This activity focuses on text-based performance analysis only. It does not evaluate fluency, intonation, pronunciation, or delivery.

How to Use This Activity


This is an ongoing practice activity, not a one-time assignment.
You are encouraged to repeat it regularly (e.g. weekly) using different materials to monitor your progress over time.

Instructions

1. Choose a practice material
- Go to the curated list of authentic practice videos provided in this course.
- The list includes materials at different difficulty levels.
- Choose one video that matches your current level.

2. Perform simultaneous interpreting
- Play the selected video.
- Perform simultaneous interpreting in real time.
- Record your interpreting output:
             - Audio recording is sufficient
             - Video recording is optional

3. Transcribe your interpreting output
- Use TurboScribe (or a similar transcription tool) to generate a transcript of your recorded interpreting output.
- If you are not familiar with TurboScribe:
           - Review this guide
           - Or explore online resources to understand how the tool works

4. Transcribe the original speech
- Use TurboScribe (or the same transcription tool) to generate a transcript of the original video.

Make sure you now have:
- One transcript of the original speech
- One transcript of your interpreting output

5. Analyze with AI Tool: My SI Insight 
- Go to My SI Insight by BELLI.
- Follow the guided steps to:
           - Input the original language and transcript
           - Input the target language and your interpreted transcript
- Review the AI-generated analysis focusing on:
           - Content coverage
           - Meaning and idea transfer
           - Word choice and expression
- Remember: this tool supports learning and reflection. It is not a formal evaluation.

6. Personal takeaway
- After reviewing the analysis, note for yourself:
           - One thing you did well
           - One thing you want to improve in your next practice
- No written submission is required.

What You Will Produce

- A recorded simultaneous interpreting practice (audio or video)
- Two text transcripts (original + interpreted)
- Personal reflection for your own learning
